YGA Program Overview
The Youth Grow Activity (YGA) is a five-year (2023-2028) initiative funded by the US Government. The YGA focuses on three core objectives:
- Increased youth access to income-generating opportunities.
- Enhanced youth economic leadership through targeted support of youth-led, youth-serving organizations and youth groups.
- Strengthened Jordan's youth development system in partnership with youth.
This initiative aims to support youth 18-29 years old in preparing for careers in Jordan's industrial sector by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to enter the labor market. Selected participants will have access to a range of services, including:
- Career guidance and counseling.
- Life skills and employability training.
- Technical and vocational training.
- Job matching and connections to employment opportunities in the industrial sector.
The activity focuses on employment opportunities across a variety of industrial sectors, including food processing, catering, agriculture and livestock, leather and textiles, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, chemicals and cosmetics, plastics and rubber, engineering, electrical and information technology, construction, wood and furniture, packaging, paper and cardboard products, office supplies, and mining.
